What we collect

When you submit the offer request form, we collect only what you type into it:

• Your name, email address, and phone number if you provide one
• The state, county, parcel number, and approximate acreage of the property
• Your answers about ownership, road access, and timing
• Anything you write in the notes field

We also keep a count of how the site is being used, described under Site measurement below. We do not run advertising trackers on this site, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

How we use it

We use what you send for one purpose: to research your property and respond to you about it. That means looking up public county records, reviewing comparable sales, and contacting you with an offer or an explanation of why we are not a fit.

If you accept an offer, we share the information needed to close with the title company handling the transaction. That is the only routine disclosure we make.

Text messages (SMS)

If you opt in to text messages — either by checking the SMS consent box on the offer request form or by texting the keyword LAND to (866) 520-9045 — we may send you text messages about your property and our offer, such as follow-up questions, status updates, and the offer itself, as well as marketing or promotional messages about buying land. Providing this consent is optional and is not a condition of any purchase or of using this site.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and reply HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with, sold to, or otherwise disclosed to any third parties or lead generators for any purpose. The only information we disclose in order to close a transaction you have agreed to is described above, shared with the title company handling it.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions in our records so we can follow up and so we have a history of properties we have looked at. If you would like your information deleted, write to us and we will remove it, except where we are required to retain records relating to a completed transaction.

Who else is involved

This site is hosted by Vercel, and form submissions are stored in Airtable. Both act as service providers processing data on our behalf. If email notifications are enabled, a transactional email provider delivers them. Each of these companies has its own privacy practices governing the data it handles for us.

Site measurement

We count visits to this site so we know whether anyone is finding it. What is recorded is a running tally and nothing else: the number of views, the page addresses viewed, the general location the connection came from — country, state or region, and city — whether the device is a phone, tablet or computer, and which site or campaign the visit arrived from.

These are totals, not records about people. We do not store your IP address, we do not build a profile, and there is no identifier that would let us recognise you on a later visit or on any other site. The location is worked out by our host from the network address before the page is served; it is approximate, and it describes a connection rather than a person. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, nothing about your visit is counted at all.

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not set any cookie of its own. The measurement described above keeps one marker in your browser’s session storage, which exists only so that reading four pages counts as one visit rather than four; your browser discards it when you close the tab. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies required to serve the site securely.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to brian@gohometownland.com and we will handle it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law.

Children

This site is intended for adults transacting in real property and is not directed at children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
